| As a 19-year-old college student
who could not be admitted to the clubs where his favorite musicians played,
Jack Overton met Muggsy Spanier in Seymour's record store on Wabash Avenue
in Chicago. Muggsy signed an autograph for Jack on the ten inch, "78" style
record that he and his band members had just recorded in March, 1950. In
this presentation, Jack presents both sides of this treasured record of
his, as well as several other selections from the Chicago-style music played
by Muggsy Spanier and his Dixielanders. |
