This is a perfect replica of the very rare Encore self-playing
banjo originally made in about 1905. To behold even as a replica this
staggering representation of music history one only has to see beyond
the replication to it's true historical value. It is 1 of about 40 units
made, works perfectly with a nickel and is suited to garner attention
in any public place. While the cabinet is remarkably impressive, one
could only look and see it would positively be the most impressive item
in any room. We can envision a young boy standing in front of a unit
like this and how delightful it would be to hear the sound coming from
such a fantastic and exciting machine.

The Encore plays music with amazing precision and accuracy. It would make such a visual complement to any music machine collection and bring a sigh of relief to any collector at the purchase of such a piece of music history. It measures 7 feet tall x 2 feet deep x 26 inches wide and is constructed with some of the finest craftsmanship to be seen. I have yet to see a more beautiful rendition depicting an automated musical instrument in such a grand setting as this and I welcome anyone to top such a fine setting. If you would like your item to be featured on the World of Gramophones please notify us here! The Encore Banjo information and photos were graciously provided by The Meekins Music Box Co Please take a visit to their impressive site you will be glad you did. |
