Gianni Bettini also developed reproducers with larger
"throats" to allow better flow of sound from the diaphragm
to the horn. His work was revolutionary in the early days of the popular
phonograph,
|
|
but became less important as other companies added improvements
to their products. Yet, his name and influence persisted in the talking
machine industry well into the first decade of the twentieth century.

Gianni Bettini; Born 1860 in Novara, Italy. Born to wealth, left school early. Was sent off to the army. Met Daisy Abbott, whom he followed to New York and married. He died in 1938 in San Remo, Italy. |
